I don’t remember when I first became interested in wine. I’ve tried. I just can’t. I didn’t grow up in a family of wine drinkers. In fact, to this day, I’m the only person in my immediate family who drinks alcohol.
But, somewhere along the way, I knew I wanted to learn more. I do remember my very first wine tasting adventure! I flew myself to Napa Valley for a week in 2000 to further discover wine. I learned so much on that trip! My very first wine tasting experience was at Cakebread. I booked a library tasting experience where we had the opportunity to try wines side-by-side to see how they changed with age. I immediately knew I was going to have to be patient with my wines! On that same trip, I booked a food and wine experience at Robert Mondavi where we played with food and wine to see how seasonings on food change the wine. These and other experiences that trip solidified my interest in wine.
I’ve since had the opportunity to enjoy wine throughout Europe, some crazy locations in the US, and in Australia. I hope you’ll come with me on my Adventures With Wine! I’ve only just gotten started.
